What’s Happening This Weekend
Hey there, fellow music and food enthusiasts! Karen Brem here, your friendly neighborhood marketing manager from the Historic Mardi Gras Inn, and I’ve got some amazing news for you! The final weekend of the Jazz & Heritage Festival is upon us, starting Thursday, May 2nd, 2024, and running through Sunday, May 5th. Gates open each day at 11:00 AM and close at 7:00 PM, so mark your calendars and get ready for a weekend of unforgettable music, food, and fun!
Now, let’s get down to business, shall we? For those of you lucky enough to snag a room at the Historic Mardi Gras Inn, you’ll be in the perfect spot to enjoy all the festivities. We’re within easy walking distance of the event, offering clean, affordable accommodations with a warm, welcoming staff. And get this: we’ve dropped our minimum nights stay to just one night for the duration of Jazz Fest! So whether you’re planning a quick getaway or a full-fledged festival weekend, we’ve got you covered!
Now, onto the main event: The Rolling Stones are rolling into town on Thursday evening from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, taking center stage at the Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots. And, for the first time in the history of Jazz Fest, they’ll be the ONLY band playing at this time! All other 13 stages will be vacated as The Stones take us on a musical journey through their iconic hits, thrilling the crowds filling the entire venue. It’s going to be an epic night you won’t want to miss!
But wait, there’s more! Jazz Fest has lined up an all-star cast of headliners to entertain the masses throughout the weekend, including the Foo Fighters, Hozier, Steel Pulse, Neil Young and Crazy Horse, Queen Latifah, Greta Van Fleet, Bonnie Raitt, Earth, Wind & Fire, and New Orleans’ own Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue! It’s a lineup that promises to satisfy music lovers of all tastes, from rock and reggae to soul and jazz.
And let’s not forget about the food! One of the highlights of Jazz Fest is the incredible culinary scene, featuring 60 food vendors offering more than 200 delectable dishes. The festival isn’t just about music; it’s a celebration of heritage, and what better way to honor that than through food? You can sink your teeth into delicacies like crawfish bread, soft-shell crab po’ boys, pulled pork po’ boys, gumbo, jambalaya, oysters cooked in ways you’ve never seen before, and so much more! It’s a gastronomic journey through the flavors of New Orleans and beyond.
So what are you waiting for? Grab your sunscreen, your hat, and a good pair of walking shoes, and join us for a fantastic weekend of music, food, and fun! The Historic Mardi Gras Inn is ready to welcome you with open arms, and Jazz Fest is ready to blow your socks off. Come on down to New Orleans, where the tunes are groovy, the food is delicious, and the memories last a lifetime.
See you there!
