Saint Patrick’s Day Bar Crawls, New Orleans 2025.

Alright, my party-loving hooligans, it’s that time of year again—when the city turns fifty shades of green, whiskey flows like the Mississippi, and we all pretend to be Irish for a weekend (or two). St. Patrick’s Day in New Orleans isn’t just a holiday; it’s a damn lifestyle. And this year, we’ve got THREE legendary bar crawls lined up, each promising a wilder, greener, and boozier experience than the last.

And guess what? The Historic Mardi Gras Inn—now LGBTQ+ owned and operated and freshly glowed-up from head to toe—is your perfect home base. Located just one short block from the French Quarter, our inn is right where you need to be to stumble into (and out of) all the action. Plus, if your legs decide they need a break from all the shenanigans, we’ve got a streetcar stop just a two-minute stagger from our front door to whisk you off to the best parties in town.

So grab your lucky charms, strap on your drinking boots, and get ready for a three-part St. Paddy’s Day rager like no other. Here’s what’s on tap:

1. The Irish Channel St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Block Party

📅 Saturday, March 16, 2024
📍 Parasol’s Bar (2533 Constance St.) & Tracey’s (2604 Magazine St.)
Party starts at 10:00 AM; parade rolls at 1:00 PM

This one’s for the true day-drinkers and shameless shenanigan seekers. The Irish Channel Parade is a New Orleans staple—complete with massive floats, dancing groups, bagpipers, and yes, flying cabbages (seriously, duck if you don’t want to get whacked in the head with one). Before and after the parade, the block parties at Parasol’s and Tracey’s will be raging with green beer, Guinness, Jameson, and more Irish whiskey than your liver can probably handle.

PRO TIP: Get there early, grab a Bloody Mary, and pace yourself—because this party doesn’t stop ‘til the sun goes down.

2. The Official New Orleans St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl

📅 Saturday, March 16, 2024
📍 Begins at Bourbon Pub & Parade (801 Bourbon St.)
Check-in from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM

For those who believe St. Paddy’s Day should be a full-scale drinking marathon, this one’s for you. This booze-fueled tour of the Quarter’s hottest bars includes VIP drink specials, live DJs, party games, and the opportunity to make bad decisions with complete strangers in the spirit of Irish camaraderie.

Each stop will have a signature St. Paddy’s cocktail waiting for you, so be ready to sip, chug, and stumble your way through the Quarter like the whiskey-loving warrior you are.

3. The Shamrock Stumble Bar Crawl

📅 Sunday, March 17, 2024 (Because St. Patrick’s Day Deserves an Encore!)
📍 Starts at Pat O’Brien’s (718 St. Peter St.)
Check-in at 2:00 PM

If you still have any functioning brain cells left after Saturday’s debauchery, this one’s your victory lap. The Shamrock Stumble is a hard-hitting, day-drinking celebration of St. Paddy’s Day at some of the most iconic bars in the city.

Expect shamrock shots, Guinness chugs, Irish jigs, and maybe some regret as you wrap up an epic weekend of green-fueled glory. Pat O’Brien’s is kicking things off with their legendary Hurricanes (because why not mix Irish whiskey with NOLA’s most potent drink?), and from there, it’s bar-to-bar madness ‘til the last leprechaun falls.

Why Stay at the Historic Mardi Gras Inn?

Listen, I’m not saying you should book a room at our fabulous LGBTQ+ owned and operated inn—but let’s be real, you’re gonna need a place to sleep it off, change into dry clothes after an accidental beer shower, or simply lay in the fetal position until the room stops spinning.

Our spot is an easy walk to the French Quarter’s madness, and when your legs give up on you, the streetcar is just two minutes away to deliver you to all the best hot spots in the city. Plus, our clean, affordable rooms and warm, welcoming staff will have you feeling like a pot of gold at the end of a very drunken rainbow. FOR MORE INFORMATION ON ACCOMMODATIONS CALL US DIRECTLY AT 504.949.5815 OR 1.800.209.9408. YOU MAY ALSO VISIT US ONLINE AT historicmardigrasinn.com.
