Seafood at it’s Best!

Spring in New Orleans is a season of vibrant colors, tantalizing aromas, and the irresistible rhythms of jazz wafting through the air. But this year, there’s an extra sprinkle of excitement as we gear up for the Jean Lafitte Seafood Festival, taking place from April 12-14, 2024. As the Marketing Director for the Historic Mardi Gras Inn, I’m thrilled to invite you to a weekend brimming with culture, cuisine, and charm, all within a short jaunt from our doorstep.

Just a 30-minute drive south of the intoxicating buzz of New Orleans, nestled in the heart of Jean Lafitte, LA, lies a celebration that marries the rich heritage of the bayou with the tantalizing flavors of the sea. The Jean Lafitte Auditorium and Grounds, located at 4953 City Park Drive, transforms into a bustling hub of activity, echoing with live music, laughter, and the sizzling sounds of fresh seafood being masterfully prepared.

This year is particularly special as Jean Lafitte commemorates its 50th anniversary. Picture yourself tapping your feet to live music performances that capture the soul of Louisiana, indulging in mouth-watering seafood dishes that tell tales of the local culinary traditions, and exploring the mysterious beauty of the swamp through guided tours.
