Coming this Week in December!!!

Enjoy the game before enjoying the nightlife!

Well, darlings, grab your pom-poms and holiday glitter because the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl is rolling into the fabulous Caesars Superdome this Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 6:00 PM—and honey, the energy is going to be hotter than a crawfish boil in July!

Here at the Historic Mardi Gras Inn, we are tickled pink (and maybe a little lavender) to invite y’all to make a long weekend out of this holiday extravaganza. Picture it: New Orleans, decked out in her finest holiday sparkle, mixing the magic of football, the flair of live music, and that extra bit of Southern sass that makes every visit to the Crescent City unforgettable.

Game Day Glam: R+L Carriers Is Bringing the Festive Feels!

Now, sugar, before the players even hit the field, the day kicks off with the R+L Carriers Luncheon—and trust, this is not your average meat-and-three gathering. This luncheon is all about camaraderie, sportsmanship, and celebrating the absolute fabulousness of community spirit. Both team head coaches will be serving up inspiring pep talks, and if you thought halftime shows were thrilling, wait until you see the school bands strut their stuff over dessert.

Oh, and let’s not forget the keynote speaker, who will no doubt drop some wisdom and whip the crowd into a frenzy. It’s the perfect prelude to an evening of football drama—and darling, the drama is guaranteed to be more entertaining than a Bourbon Street tarot reading!

The Main Event: Touchdowns, Tailgates, and NOLA Vibes

The New Orleans Bowl isn’t just about the game; it’s a celebration of community and fan enthusiasm, and no city throws a party quite like ours. Imagine tailgates that are as much about crawfish etouffée and beignets as burgers and hot dogs. From fan events to local live music, every corner of the Superdome will radiate that one-of-a-kind NOLA spirit. It’s like Mardi Gras met football, and let me tell you, honey, it’s a match made in heaven.

Post-Game Shenanigans: Where the Real Fun Begins

After the game, the city comes alive like a disco ball under a spotlight. Head over to Bourbon Street for drinks, laughs, and maybe a few karaoke performances you’ll swear never happened. Feeling a little more risqué? St. Ann Street has all the LGBTQ+-friendly fun you can handle, serving up vibes as fierce as a Beyoncé halftime show. And for my music lovers, Frenchmen Street is where the groove is endless, with jazz and blues pouring out of every club like holiday cheer in a shot glass.

A Holiday Stay Like No Other

While you’re here for the bowl, why not stay and soak up some New Orleans holiday magic? The streetcars, draped in their holiday finest, are jingling their way through the city, ready to whisk you to all the hot spots, from the twinkling lights of City Park to the boutiques on Magazine Street. And, sugar, the French Quarter is an absolute holiday wonderland—think historic architecture accented by wreaths, ribbons, and just a little extra sparkle (much like yours truly).

And of course, our own Historic Mardi Gras Inn is ready to welcome you with open arms. We’re proudly LGBTQ+ owned and operated, with a fresh new look thanks to a complete renovation that left no sequin unturned. While we make no grand promises, what we can guarantee is clean, affordable accommodations and a diverse, friendly staff who are here to make your stay as fabulous as possible. A Bowl, a Weekend, and a Big Easy Holiday

So why not make a long weekend of it? Catch the game, indulge in the tailgates, soak up the community vibes, and then let the city’s nightlife sweep you off your feet. And hey, while the R+L Carriers Bowl is a one-day affair, the holiday season in New Orleans is an experience. So pack your bags, grab your tickets, and let the good times bowl… I mean, roll!

Laissez les bons temps rouler, y’all—and see you on game day! 🏈✨
