COMING SOON!!!

COME & ENJOY THE LOUISIANA CAJUN-ZYDECO FESTIVAL 2025!

Y’all, dust off those dancing boots and grab your washboards, because it’s time to get downright swamp-sexy in the Crescent City. The Louisiana Cajun-Zydeco Festival is shakin’ its sassy tail back into New Orleans on Saturday, May 31st, and Sunday, June 1st, 2025, and honey—this is not the weekend to play shy.

Now, before I dish the spicy details, allow me to introduce myself. I’m Karen Brem, your rhythm-loving, sass-slinging Marketing Director for the Historic Mardi Gras Inn—your go-to getaway for all things French Quarter fabulous. We are proudly LGBTQ+ owned and operated, and just finished a site-wide glow-up so fresh it might need its own second line. Think charming, affordable, and sparkling clean with a staff that’ll greet you like family (the fun side of the family, not the weird cousin who judges your drink order).

Located just one block off the French Quarter and a short two-minute strut to the streetcar, our inn is chef’s kiss perfect for any New Orleans event—but especially one that combines spicy music, crawfish cravings, and a crowd full of dancing daddies and zydeco queens.

What’s the Fuss About the Cajun-Zydeco Fest?

Well sugar, let me spill the roux.

Hosted by the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation, this two-day, free outdoor music festival is a whole lotta Louisiana love in one sweaty, soulful package. The fest takes place Saturday, May 31st, and Sunday, June 1st at the George and Joyce Wein Jazz & Heritage Center, 1225 N. Rampart St.—which, need I point out, is just a short booty bounce from our front door.

The music? Think fiddle-fueled Cajun rhythms, accordion-thumpin’ zydeco jams, and more two-steppin’ than a gay line dance at midnight. We’re talkin’ legends of Louisiana roots music, homegrown talent, and maybe a few surprises that’ll have you hollerin’ “Laissez les bon temps rouler!” without even trying.

From 3:00-8:30 PM both days, you’ll be swaying under the sun (and probably sweating out last night’s Hurricanes) while munching on the best fried catfish, crawfish étouffée, and cracklins this side of the bayou. Throw in an arts market, local brews, and—if we’re being honest—a whole lotta flirtation, and baby, you’ve got yourself a festival.

Why Stay With Us? Because Location, Darling.

Let’s keep it real: when you’re heading to a festival that ends at 8:30 PM, you know the party ain’t over. That’s when the real NOLA nightlife kicks into overdrive. We’re talking burlesque shows that’ll leave you breathless, drag queens that could out-lip-sync RuPaul herself, and bars where the cocktails are as strong as the innuendos. 🍸

The Historic Mardi Gras Inn puts you smack-dab in the middle of it all—with the French Quarter’s wild side just steps away, and the streetcar line practically whispering, “Let’s get weird.” Whether you’re feelin’ fancy, frisky, or fried (from all that dancing, of course), you’ll find your way back to us, no Uber needed.

We make no promises (except clean affordable rooms and a staff that’ll welcome you like the hot piece of out-of-town realness you are). But trust—our vibe is immaculate. 🏳️‍🌈

Make It a Long Weekend, Boo

Don’t just dip in and out like a one-night stand with a banjo player. Make a weekend of it! Come in Friday and let the city seduce you early. Stay through Monday and soak up every drop of culture, music, and good old-fashioned French Quarter mischief. Because once that music hits and the zydeco beat gets your hips moving, you’re not gonna wanna go home.

Book now, or risk crying into your crawfish when the rooms are gone and you’re left bunking with your cousin in Metairie. (Shudder.)

So come one, come y’all. Whether you’re queer, straight, questioning, or just here for the accordion solos, the Louisiana Cajun-Zydeco Festival is your ticket to a weekend of gumbo-fueled glory. And the Historic Mardi Gras Inn is your cozy little nest when you’re done gettin’ down and dirty (on the dance floor, of course).

See you soon, sugar. And don’t forget your dancing shoes. Or your glitter. 💃🪗🕺
