COMING SOON!!!

Hello, foodie friends, festival fanatics, and lovers of all things Creole and chaotic! I’m Karen Brem, your ever-enthusiastic Marketing Director for the Historic Mardi Gras Inn—the most charming (and might I say glowing) little spot in New Orleans. And honey, if there’s one thing this city knows how to do, it’s throw a party and a pot of gumbo at the same time.
Get those stretchy pants ready, because the Treme Creole Gumbo Festival is back for its 17th delicious year, bubbling over November 8–9, 2025, at the Louis Armstrong Park, just a short stroll from the French Quarter. We’re talking two full days of brass bands, art, second lines, and steaming bowls of soulful, spicy perfection—all simmered with that cultural diversity and community spirit that makes New Orleans the flavor capital of the world.
Where and When the Magic Happens
📍 Location: Louis Armstrong Park (701 N Rampart Street, New Orleans, LA)
🕓 Dates: Saturday, November 8 & Sunday, November 9, 2025
🕘 Time: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM each day
💰 Admission: FREE (but sugar, those donations are greatly appreciated and help keep the gumbo flowing!)
This beloved fall festival is a love letter to the Treme neighborhood, one of the oldest African American neighborhoods in the U.S. and the true birthplace of New Orleans jazz. As the hot, humid air of summer gives way to that crisp, cozy November breeze, locals and visitors alike gather for one last outdoor food fling before we swap tank tops for sweaters.
Let’s Talk Gumbo—The Real Star of the Show 🍤🥘
You can’t call yourself a foodie until you’ve stood in a line so long it’s practically a second line—just to get a bowl of gumbo from somebody’s grandma who’s been perfecting her roux since before you could spell “filé.”
You’ll taste it all here:
✨ Creole seafood gumbo bursting with crab, shrimp, and okra.
✨ Chicken and andouille sausage gumbo with a smoky kick that’ll make your tongue dance.
✨ Vegan and vegetarian gumbos that prove you don’t need meat to make magic.
✨ And a few culinary curveballs—because NOLA chefs love to stir things up!
Every spoonful tells a story of Creole, African, Caribbean, and French influences, simmered together in one steamy, spicy, soulful celebration. Add to that the brass bands blaring, the artists showcasing their handmade wares, and the second lines sashaying through the crowd—and you’ve got the perfect recipe for a New Orleans weekend done right.
Music, Art, and Movement 🎶🎨🕺
If the food doesn’t make you swoon, the live music lineup will. Expect classic NOLA brass bands like the Hot 8 Brass Band, the Soul Rebels, and local favorites who know how to keep a crowd two-stepping all afternoon.
The Arts Market adds even more flavor—local artisans selling everything from handmade jewelry and leather goods to vibrant NOLA-themed artwork and holiday gifts you’ll actually want to keep.
And of course, the Second Lines—those joyous, foot-stomping parades that make New Orleans feel like one big, beautiful family reunion. Don’t just watch—join in! Bring your umbrella, wave your napkin, and let that rhythm move you.
Make It a Long Weekend (You Know You Want To) 🌙🍹
