💃 What is White Linen Night?
Every first Saturday of August, Julia Street transforms into an elegant street party that even Audrey Hepburn would RSVP “yes” to. From 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM, Julia Street shuts down for a vibrant, open-air block party with over 20 contemporary art galleries flinging open their doors. Live music? Check. Street performers? Yes, please. Food and drinks from top New Orleans chefs and bars? Oh, you know it.
This is the night where art meets sass, and the city’s fashionistas strut their stuff in ivory, cream, and dazzling whites. Whether you’re into sipping chilled wine while admiring avant-garde art, or dancing under the stars to funky brass bands, White Linen Night has it all.
🎨 Where’s It Happening?
Let me spill the tea:
- Main Drag: 300–700 blocks of Julia Street in the Warehouse Arts District (a.k.a. the SoHo of the South)
- Art Galleries: The galleries along Julia Street and adjacent streets will be open and hosting special exhibits and artist meet-and-greets
- Live Music Stages: Positioned along the route, filling the night with jazz, funk, and all the New Orleans sounds your hips can’t say no to
- Food & Beverage Booths: Local chefs, food trucks, and pop-up cocktail stations to keep you fed and tipsy
- After Party Alert: Once 9:30 rolls around, head to the CAC (Contemporary Arts Center) for the official after party—this year’s theme is rumored to be “Disco Dreams and White Lies”—and yes, we are HERE for it
