They’re fast, they’re fierce, and they’re coming for your wig. 👻💋

COMING SOON!!!

Brace yourselves, my frightfully fit friends—on Saturday, October 25, 2025, New Orleans is set to rise from the grave for the Halloween Zombie Run, where the living and the dead collide in a two-mile dash through the Warehouse District. Forget your cute jogs in Audubon Park—this one’s for those who prefer their cardio with a side of terror, tulle, and a touch of blood splatter.

This spine-tingling spectacle is part of the Krewe of Boo’s legendary Halloween celebration, and if you haven’t seen runners dressed as decaying prom queens, zombie pirates, and half-dead drag divas chasing down “survivors,” then honey, you haven’t lived. Or, should I say… you haven’t un-lived.

🧟‍♀️ The Undead Agenda: A Full Day of Frightful Fun

The Halloween Zombie Run kicks off at 9:00 a.m. sharp at Generations Hall (310 Andrew Higgins Blvd) in the Warehouse District. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m., so arrive early—unless you enjoy the thrill of sprinting from both zombies and the registration line.

This two-mile course winds through the heart of the Warehouse District, where runners (aka “Survivors”) must dodge costumed zombies lurking along the streets. Lose all your “life tags” to the undead, and you’ll become one of them. (Darling, it’s just like a night out on Bourbon Street—only with less glitter and more gore.)

After the race, stick around for the Zombie After-Party at Generations Hall starting at 10:00 a.m., where DJs spin spooky beats, drinks flow like blood in a B-movie slasher, and awards are handed out for best costume, fastest corpse, and most creative reanimation.

Then, as the sun begins to sink over the Crescent City, the main event awakens—the Krewe of Boo Halloween Parade, rolling at 6:30 p.m. through the French Quarter. Picture it: massive, glowing floats dripping in cobwebs and neon, dancing skeletons, ghoulish marchers, and yes—an entire city dressed to kill. The parade begins at Elysian Fields Avenue and Decatur Street, winds through Canal Street, and ends at Tchoupitoulas Street.

If you’re not too exhausted (or undead), finish your night at the Monster Mash Costume Party at The Howlin’ Wolf in the Warehouse District, starting at 9:00 p.m. Expect fabulous chaos: costume contests, live bands, and cocktails that glow in the dark (because this is New Orleans—we like our drinks haunted too).

🏨 Stay Where the Spirits Rest (Sort Of)

Now, sugar, let’s talk about where to rest your bones when the night’s over. The Historic Mardi Gras Inn, just one short block from the French Quarter, is the place to haunt between all the day’s undead delights.

Our charming inn has just completed a full site-wide glow-up, and trust me—she’s looking fierce. Think historic New Orleans charm with a dash of fresh fabulousness. And yes, we’re now LGBTQ+ owned and operated, baby! That means you’ll find nothing but love, acceptance, and maybe a few ghostly giggles echoing through the halls.

Whether you’re running, walking, crawling, or wobbling home from your favorite bar on Decatur Street, we’ve got you covered with clean, affordable accommodations and a warm, welcoming staff who make every guest feel like family (or at least a friendly apparition).

And with a streetcar stop just two minutes from our front door, getting to all the eerie festivities couldn’t be easier.

💀 Make a Weekend of It

Don’t just come for the run—make it a long weekend! Between now and Halloween, New Orleans transforms into a living, breathing (well, mostly breathing) horror movie. Haunted tours, eerie escape rooms, witchy bars, and costume parties happen almost nightly. This city doesn’t do Halloween halfway—we stretch it out like a mummy’s wrap and drench it in vodka.

Book your stay now before the rooms vanish faster than a ghost in daylight. Trust me, the living (and the undead) have already started snagging reservations.

Whether you’re here to sprint from zombies, sip on something wicked, or just show off your terrifyingly good costume, the City of the Dead is waiting for you. And at the Historic Mardi Gras Inn, we’re ready to welcome you with open arms—and maybe a coffin-shaped cocktail.

So grab your fake blood, lace up your running shoes (or stilettos, no judgment), and join us for a weekend that’s equal parts spooky, sexy, and spectacular.

Because in New Orleans, darling, the dead don’t just walk…
They run, dance, drink, and party till dawn! 🧟‍♂️💃🍹
